Cooking 101 (3-5 Years) (NEW!)

Kids can cook!! Children will learn how to make a simple non-bake healthy snack each class along with a new active game. Parent helpers welcomed.
Young Explorers (3-5 Years) (NEW!)

Why, Why, Why? How often do you hear that? Let your child explore at the YMCA. Each class will focus on a science related activity that might answer some unknown questions or create even more. Parent helpers welcomed.
Sprouting Scientists (3-5 Years - Parents Welcome)
How'd they do that? How'd they make that? Who left that behind? Why does that happen? This class is for the curious mind. We will perform experiments and explore the world of science each week.
Kids Kitchen (3-5 Years & 6-10 Years)
Crash course in cookin for the young and hungry in your family. We will make kid classic dishes and snacks then eat our reward at the end of every class. Take home recipes will be provided as written by our little chefs.
Tiny Tinkers (3-5 Years w/ Parent)
WARNING: DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME, but you can try it at the Y. Our tiny tinkerers are going to take things apart with no reassembly required. A whole lot of fun for the curious little mechanic in your house.
Little Artists (3-5 Years)
A fun filled class of arts and crafts projects. We will explore everything from painting to stamping. A chance for the little Picasso in your family to be creative.
Mixed Bag (3-5 Years)
A class for the curious and enthusiastic child who wants to explore everything. This class has it all - science, art, music, games, and physical activities. We will be busy and have fun every week doin something new and exciting.
Squeaky Sneakers (4-5 Years)
This program is designed to be an introduction to sports and games for the pre-kindergartener who isn't quite ready for our Youth Sports programs. Participants will learn sports basics while improving motor movement and eye-hand coordination.
KinderDance (Ages 4-5 & 6-8 Years)
A combination of Ballet, Tap, & Jazz instruction. Emphasis is on fun, gross motor skills, and movement to music.
Elm City Cheerleading (Ages 5+) (NEW!)
Stunting, Dancing, Cheering, and Original Routines.
Sports Sampler (6-8 Years) & (9-12 Years)
Love sports? Haven't quite decided what sport is for you? Then Sports Sampler is for you! This class will give each participant the opportunity to try a whole host of different sports. Emphasis is on learning basic sport rules, technique and most of all have fun!
Floor Hockey (6-8 Years) & (9-12 Years)
This program is designed to teach basic hockey skills but will have an emphasis on fun! Techniques will be taught through games, fun drills, and a scrimmage each week.
Youth Basketball (6-8 Years) & (9-12Years)
This is a beginner class with emphasis in skill development leading to some game play. Skills will be taught through games and fun drills.
Indoor Soccer (6-8 Years) & (9-12 Years)
This program is designed to teach basic soccer skills but will have an emphasis on fun! Techniques will be taught through games, fun drills, and a scrimmage each week.
Youth Fitness (6-8 Years) & (9-12 Years)
Let a YMCA Fitness Coach show your child that
fitness can be fun! A combination of fitness activities and games will teach the importance of fitness including
endurance, flexibility and strength. Fun, safety and proper use of equipment are the goals of this class.
Youth Dodgeball (6-8 Years) & (9-12 Years)
Players try to avoid being hit by a ball that players on the other team are throwing at them. Good sportsmanship and a lot of energy is all that is needed.
Wiffle Ball (8-12 Years) (NEW!)
Come join us for some fun with this backyard classic. Learn how to hit and throw the ever challenging wiffle ball!
WellKIDS (7-12Years) (NEW!)
This program focuses on creating healthier kids by promoting physical activity and healthy eating habits. WellKIDS will utilize all major program areas of the Y; aquatics, youth sports, gymnastics, climbing wall and youth fitness.
Kickball (6-8 Years) & (9-12 Years)
Come join us for this school yard favorite. A combination of baseball, soccer, and dodgeball. New teams will be formed each week.
Home School PE Class (7-13 Years)
A basic PE class but this time at the YMCA! Activities will include basketball, soccer, fitness, rock climbing, floor hockey, kickball, wallyball, and more!
Junior Climbers (8 - 12 Years)
Learn the basic skills of rock climbing, safety, proper use of equipment, and techniques. All classes
emphasize fun and safety. Come get ON BELAY!
Advanced Basketball (9-12 Years)
Focus will be on game play, sportsmanship, and skill building. This class is for the child who is ready to take hoop to a new level and refine their skills.
Dance Programs
Creative Dance (4-5 Years)
This 30 minute class is the perfect introduction to dance and movement for boys & girls. Using group & partner
activities, games, center and across the floor exercises, children will be introduced to gross & fine motor skills, rhythm, progression and pre-dance skills. We will experience basic steps, following directions, many styles of music and lots of FUN!
Tap-n-Jazz (6-8 Years)
This 45 minute beginner level class will introduce boys and girls to the basics of both jazz and tap dance. Tap will
focus on rhythm, precision and creating sound patterns with our feet (and maybe even hands, arms, legs and mouths!). Jazz will help explore technique, traveling steps and both classic and modern style. Let's set the stage for tons of FUN!
