The Keene Family YMCA is proud to unveil its new Y ARTS program. With the help of your input, we discovered a high demand for quality, fun and affordable arts programming for youth and adults. We are working hard every day to bring you new and innovative programming as a thank you for your loyalty to this organization.

Messing with Mixed Media (9-12 Years) & (13+ Years)
Budding artist looking for a class to get you started? Mixed Media is a great place to start. Participants in this hands-on class will explore the use of found objects in collaboration with traditional materials to create works of art. Learn techniques from all the core art areas including: drawing, painting, sculpture and collage.

Drawing-Painting Sampler (9-12 Years) & (13+ Years)
A single introductory class on two classic art forms. Participants will explore a variety of drawing and painting techniques through innovative projects that not only teach but inspire. Explore the use of space, form, perspective and scale, as well as color mixing and theory. Become familiar and comfortable with a variety of tools and media for two art forms in a single session.

Scrapbooking (12+ Years)
A class for all skill levels. Capture your fondest memories with this new and innovative art form. Come learn layout and design using techniques such as cropping, matting, journaling, embossing, stamping and put together creative and decorative pages during each class.

Scrapbooking Club (All Ages)
Looking for a quiet place to spread out your pages and work with others who love to scrapbook? This club is for all skill levels. Bring your own supplies and tools and share with and learn from your fellow crafters. An evening of FUN for all ages.

Kreative Kids Studio (6-9 Years)
Students will experience art through a variety of hands on projects. Each week will feature a different medium including : painting, drawing, sculpture, crafting, mixed media and paper collage. A fun atmosphere where youth can experience many art forms in one session.

Woodworking (6-8 Years) & (9-11 Years)
Students will learn the proper use of hand tools, such as cross cut and coping saws, files, hammers, chisels and hand drills. Participants will also learn finishing techniques, completing beautiful take home projects.
